Australia's Most Popular Ute - Toyota Hilux

It's Australia's most popular vehicle overall, which is impressive for a ute. When you count four-wheel-drive variants, it's a race against the Ford Ranger that changes leader almost every month.
The Toyota HiLux is also the most impressive four-wheel-drive ute off-road in standard form, as we have experienced many times in the past.

2000-2005 Hilux 1KZ-TE 3.0L

Introduced as the replacement of the 2.4 2LTE engine in Toyota's Light Duty Commercial Vehicles in Japan, it was first introduced in the 70-series Prado in May of 1993 followed by the Hiace and Hilux Surf in August of the same year. The 1KZ-TE also adopts the electronically controlled fuel injection.

2005-2015 Hilux 1KD-FTV 3.0L

First appearing in August 2000,[1] the 1KD-FTV was the first iteration of this generation and was first used in the J90 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado starting in July 2000.
This engine uses Toyota's D-4D Common Rail fuel injection technology operating at ultra-high pressures of up to 1,350 bar (19,600 psi).The 1KD engine produces 17% more power with 11% less fuel consumption than its predecessor, the 1KZ engine.

2015 Onwards Hilux 1GD-FTV 2.8L

The Toyota GD engine series is a diesel engine produced by Toyota which appeared in 2015. It replaced the Toyota KD engine series as a diesel engine series mainly oriented to body-on-frame vehicles.
